Rev. Daniel Hosselkus was the son of Rev. John and Molly (Parke) Hosselkus. He was the husband of Deborah (Kellogg) Hosselkus. He was a Local Preacher in the Genesee (Western New York/now Upper New York) Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Brief biography of Daniel Hosselkus of Oakfield, New York
Daniel Hosselkus, a native of Oneida County, New York, lived in Herkimer County until he attained manhood, came to Oakfield in 1829, and married Deborah Kellogg, of Herkimer County. There were but two houses in the Village of Oakfield when he came here. He gave the site for the Methodist Episcopal Church, and he and his wife were the first members. Mr. Hosselkus died in the winter of 1890, aged 91 years. They lived together for 68 years.
