Daughter of John Ray Porter and Lucy A. Spivy. Wife of Samuel Newton Boyd.
After her husband died, she sold the farm in Ozark and moved in with her daughter Betty Jane Boyd Creed in Merriam Kansas. She would later move to Springfield to live with her daughter Lola Agnus Boyd Stewart.
I have very fond memories of my grandma Boyd. We would often visit her when she came to live with her daughter Betty Jane in Merriam, Kansas. She always seemed to be happy and always a smile on her face. She was very special around Christmas time when we would receive some money in our Christmas card.
I remember the day she died. I was working for the National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee at the time and drove up to be a pallbearer in her funeral. It was cold and had just snowed the night before.
