The second newspaper established at Megargel was The Megargel Post. The Post was owned / edited / published by William J. Haden with the assistance of his oldest daughter, Gladys Haden.
The Haden's began the newspaper in 1920 and purchased equipment and presses for $300. Type was set by hand. The paper was published every Friday with a yearly subscription of $1.50.
The newspaper motto was "We believe that the community in which we live is a part of our home and that we should work earnestly with our neighbors to bring more helpfulness and joy into the community."
In 1923, Haden became ill and died. His daughter, Gladys, continued the paper by herself. In 1924, she sold the equipment for $300 and the printing equipment was moved to Goree.
