Born here,Mr. Layton was a son of the late Chadwick and Carrie Sherman Layton. He was resident of this vicinity all his life. Estate manager for Philip Lehman of Deal, Mr. Layton retired in 1935. He was a member of Elberon Engine company, here, and former chief of the Deal Fire Department. His wife, Mrs. Minnie Lawley Layton, survives. Services will be held at 11a.m. tomorrow in the Flock funeral Home, 243 Broadway. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, West Long Branch. Red Bank Register, Wed.22,1965
