ARDEN LAWRENCE, 77, of Bayard, NM passed away on September 14, 2010. He was born November 28, 1932 in Barstow, TX, the son of Cassius Clay and Harriet Mae Lawrence. Arden served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War where he was assigned to the 8th Army, 25th Division. He was awarded a Meritorious Unit Emblem, United Nations Korean Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and six bronze stars. After serving in the US Army he was discharged in 1952 and became a journeyman electrician for the remainder of his career.

Arden is survived by his companion of 28 years Hortensia Mendoza, his seven children, Larry (Debbie) Robles, David Lawrence, Arden E. Lawrence, Jr., Pat (Gary) Villines, Betty (Robert) Munoz, Billy (Mari) Lawrence and Jerry (Donna) Lawrence; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Arden also leaves behind two sisters, June and Colleen.

A private family service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, September 18, 2010 at the Fort Bayard National Cemetery in Fort Bayard, NM.
