Name: Bailis J Crowder
Enlistment Date: 1861
Rank: Private
Military Unit: Sixteenth Infantry (Greenville Regiment) Company-F
Sources:
U.S., Confederate Soldiers Compiled Service Records, 1861-1865. There is very little in his compiled service record (CSR) but it appears that he may have gotten a sick furlough to come home from Adams Run and quite likely passed away while at home. There is a Register of deceased soldiers referenced in his Compiled Service Record (CSR) whereby his father files a claim with the Confederate government on 19 June 1862 which means Baylis had died by that time. Since there are no medical cards in his CDR, I am led to believe he was quite sick and was sent home where he died. His mother was a Taylor before marriage so that is probably why Baylis is buried in this Taylor-Gibson cemetery.
