Nancy Jean Dunlap Riley was born 6 Mar. 1948, the oldest daughter and first child (four girls and two boys), to John Robert Dunlap and Mary Lavelle Lamb Dunlap. She married Richard Allan Pickard on 8 Aug. 1969 and together they had two children, Theresa Carol and Melissa Louise Pickard. That marriage ended in divorce.
Nancy married James Millard Riley on 16 Jun. 1986. They had no children together.

The funeral for retired registered nurse Nancy Jean Pickard-Riley of Paris will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Wilbur Farmer and Craig Peevyhouse will officiate. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery between Cottage Grove and Como.

Selected as pallbearers are Bo Griffey, Christian Oman, Jack King, Jackie Huffman, Terry Carter and Rod Frey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Taylor, Jerry Freeland and Gary Greer.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Pickard-Riley, 62, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at her residence.

She was married on June 16, 1986, to James M. Riley, who survives.

Born March 6, 1948, in Chicago, she was a daughter of the late John Robert Dunlap Sr. and Mary Lavelle Lamb Dunlap.

Pickard-Riley was licensed as a nurse on May 25, 1978, and hired at Henry County Medical Center on Aug. 23, 1978, where she worked until retiring in July 2010. At the hospital, working as a registered nurse, she became nursing supervisor on Nov. 25, 1990, and as house supervisor on June 29, 1997. She also worked as night nurse supervisor.

She was certified in pediatric advance life support, advance cardiac life support, as a healthcare provider in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and as a neonatal resuscitation provider.

Prior to working at Henry County Medical Center, she had been employed at Garrett (Ind.) Hopsital. She was a graduate of Baptist School of Nursing in Memphis.

Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters: Theresa C. (Chris) Oman and Melissa L. (Mike) Wever, both of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three sisters: Helen A. (Steve) Prinz of Knoxville, Kathy S. (Don) Austin of Humboldt and Jackie L. (Terry) Witherspoon of Paris; two brothers: John R. Dunlap, Jr. of Hendersonville and Freddie T. (LeAnn) Dunlap of North Bend, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and special friends at Cookie's Diner, formerly Eaker's Cafe.
