George Thomas Asbury, son of Isaiah and Elary Elizabeth Asbury, was born near Raddle (Jackson County, IL) on August 14, 1851. He died at his home in Rockwood, IL on December 4, 1925 at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 20 days.

Mr. Asbury first married Cecelia Elizabeth Villar in 1872. To this union were born two children. One child died in infancy. The other, a daughter named Louise, married Charles J. Pelchel.

Mr. Asbury later married Margaret Hudolph on July 21, 1884. To this union were born seven children -- six boys and one daughter. Their sons were Samuel, Carl, Tom, Charlie, Ernest and Albert; their daughter was Mildred (wife of F. R. Penrod)

His obituary stated that he farmed most of his life, living at Jones Ridge for many, many years; that he was a kind husband and father; was loved as a neighbor and was highly respected in the community.
