GOODWIN,SR., Earl Thomas age 88 of Watertown, TN February 16, 2009. A Methodist minister with the United Methodist Middle Tennessee Conference, he retired in 1987 after 24 years of service. He was the VFW State chaplain, life member of Knights Eye Foundation and honorary member of the Tennessee General Assembly June 1980. He felt that his ministry was to reach out to the people not directly in touch with the hand of God and bring them to believe that with God anything they face in life can be dealt with. God was not selective with his love of mankind. Preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Lydia Ann Goodwin and Linda Elizabeth Goodwin ; brothers, Paul David Goodwin and Harold Frank Goodwin. Survived by his wife Cecelia Jo Goodwin; children, Earl Thomas (Tommy) Goodwin, David Ray Goodwin (Gigi), Timothy J. Goodwin (Lori), Cecelia Katherine Jakes (Gilbert), Jean Carol Crance (Harry); 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 19, 2009 in Woodlawn's Dignity Hall with Rev. Jerry Mayo and Rev. Hawkins Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation Tuesday and Wednesday 4:00 til 7:00 p.m. at WOODLAWN-ROESCH-PATTON Funeral Home 660 Thompson Lane 615-383-4754.
