Malinda passed away on May 21, 1938 after suffering from a cerebral hemorrhage. At the time of her death she was survived by her husband and all but 2 of her children. Her children Hattie and Francis had both preceded their mother in death.
Mrs. McDaniel was laid to rest in Fasken Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. McDaniel, well known residents of the district northeast of Carthage, will have been married 50 years Monday and will celebrate their golden anniversary at their home tomorrow when many of their large circle of friends will gather to congratulate them. Weather conditions permitting, many of the visitors will take their basket dinners which will be spread on tables in the yard of the McDaniel home. Others will call in the afternoon. A general invitation to their friends is extended.
Members of the Jasper County Jersey Breeders Association will join in the observance. Mr. McDaniel and sons have one of the excellent Jersey herds of the county on their farm.
Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel were married in Jasper county November 26, 1884 and the following spring moved onto the farm where they now reside and which has been their home continuously during that period. Mr. McDaniel is 75 years old and his wife is 68.
They are the parents of 10 children, eight of whom are living.
Mr. McDaniel was seriously ill a few months ago but is greatly improved now and able to be up and around the house.
Eight of the 10 living children of Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel were present. Members of the Carthage District Jersey Breeders' Association brought their basket dinners which were served in the yard. Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel were the recipients of many bouquets and other remembrances, including a new radio, the gift of their children.
Officials of the Southwest Missouri Interstate Fox and Wolf Hunters also called and presented Mr, McDaniel, who is a most enthusiastic follower of this sport with a life membership.
Mr. and Mrs McDaniel were married November 26, 1884 at the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George Jacobs, northeast of Carthage, The Rev. Christoper Holderman officiating. The following spring they moved to the farm where they since have lived continuously.
They have built two homes at the site, the present home having been erected when fire destroyed their earlier residence. The McDaniel place consists of 200 acres and now is operated principally as a dairy and purebred Jersey farm under the name C. B. McDaniels & Sons, the work being carried on my the two younger sons of the family. H. B. McDaniel and Williams McDaniel for 25 years Mr. McDaniel has been a breeder of purebred Jerseys, his son, H. B., having taken the lead in this department for 17 year as and having developed one of the better herds of Jerseys in the county.
Mrs. McDaniel before her marriage was Miss Malinda Catherine Baker. She was born March 5, 1866 in Allen county, Ohio and came to Jasper county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. S. Baker, in 1882 the family settling northeast of Carthage.
Besides the 10 living children, Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel have 19 grandchildren. The children are: George McDaniel, Roswell, NM.; Walter McDaniel, Pico, CA.; Mrs. John Maxwell and Mrs. Ellis Wright, northeast of Carthage; R. E. Lee McDaniel, Springfield; Frank McDaniel, Jasper; Mrs. James Tullis, northeast of Carthage, H. B. McDaniel; Miss Elizabeth McDaniel and William McDaniel, all residing with their parents. All of the children except the two elder sons, George and Walter, were here yesterday for the anniversary observance.
Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel both are members of Center Point Christian church, northeast of Carthage. Mr. McDaniel a few months ago was critically ill but now is much improved and withstood the excitement of yesterday's many greetings well. Mrs. McDaniel is enjoying good health.
