Hershel W. (Pete) Monroe, 44, of 1806 E. 22nd St., died at 10 a.m. Monday at Ball Hospital following a heart attack at Warner Gear Division where he had worked as a machinist for the past 10 years.
An Atlanta, Ind. native, Mr. Monroe had lived in Muncie most of his life. He was a member of 237 UAW.
Surviving are his wife, Teresa; a daughter, Mrs. Livana Porter, Indianapolis; a son, Charles W., Muncie; three brothers, James, Lora and John Monroe, all of Muncie; and four sisters, Mrs. Mary Fields, Mrs. Marie Green, Mrs. Thelma Clanin, and Mrs. Jeanetta Stamper, all of Muncie.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Parson Mortuary with the Rev. Harry Case officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
