Thomas J. Loftus, 83, of Mercury Circle, Liverpool, died Sunday at University Hospital.
Mr. Loftus was a native of New York City and had resided in Liverpool for the past nine years. He retired as a claims consultant in 1977 from the New York Life Insurance Co.
He was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church, Mattydale, and a fourth-degree Knight of Columbus. He was also a member of the Castillian Council and the Charles Carroll Council.
Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy Deborah Toomey; two daughters, Lynne Clifton of Springfield, Va., and Leslie O'Grady of Damascus, Va.; two sisters, Catherine Nolan of Mahopac and Loretta Bernardi of Hasbrouck, N.J.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Krueger Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery Masoleum.
Calling hours are 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday at the funeral home, 2307 Brewerton Road, Mattydale.
