Volney was the son on Silas Gray (1792-1846)and Omira Tate Wilson.(1793-1860) His father was born in New York,his mother, in Vermont. Both his parents died in Marion, Linn Co, Iowa.
Volney maried Hannah Pratt on Aug 16, 1846 in Marion, Linn County, Iowa.
He was a Eclectic Physician.
His great granddaughter Belle Hannah (Gray) Ordway is also buried at this cemetery.
