George passed at home, Monday, May 15.
George was born Aug. 29, 1936, in Mt. Vernon, Alabama, to Matthew and Annie Davis. George married Carol Hudgins on Oct. 4, 1973. George owned his own business in Midland from 1984 to 1996. He was a member of the Mowa Band of Choctaw Indians of South Alabama.
George is survived by George R. Davis, Jr. and Rodney Davis of Lubbock, Elezibath Davis, Sherry Davis, and Patty Hulett, of Hamburg, NY, Allen Davis of Roundrock, TX, Chris Davis of San Antonio, TX, Lori Manning and Douglas Davis of Midland; three stepsons, Leslie Johnson of Midland, Wesley and Bruce Johnson of Albuquerque, NM; 17 grandsons; 11 granddaughters; two great-grandkids; sisters Muriel Rogers, Inez Crooks and Beverly Lee of Pensacola FL, Darlene Martin of McKee, KY, Geneva Pugh of Mobile, AL; and brother, Ory Davis of Citronelle, AL.
George is preceded in death by sisters, Mary Frazier and Mehallie Brooks Harrison; brothers, Bart Davis and Jr. Davis; and a daughter, Kimberly "Susie" Joyce Davis.
