Addie Pauline Hanks, 78, of Batson, died in Medical Center Hospital in Tyler on Monday, Jan. 18, following a short illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 20, in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with David Burks officiating. Burial was in Live Oak Cemetery.

Mrs. Hanks was born in Hamilton County on Jan. 17 1910, the daughter of the late Walter and Minnie Mae Ray Harlien. She married W.H. Crawford in 1931. He preceded her in death. She later married Elmer Hanks in 1968. He also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include seven children, I.D. Lawrence of Sterling City, Mrs. Catherine Rhodes of Mumps Corners, S.C., Mrs. Billy Burks of San Antonio, W.H. Crawford of Tyler Town, Miss., Darline Davenport of Tyler, Joyce Jones of Midway, and Wayne Crawford of Batson; two sisters, Mrs. Oma Weeks of Mumps Corners, S.C., and Mrs. Elmer Crabtree of Alberta, Ala.; three brothers, J.W. Harlien of Corpus Christi, Iven Harlien of Liberty Hill, and Cecil Harlien of Caldwell; 26 grandchildren, and a number of great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Pallbearers were Douglas Jones, Donnie Jones, Ira Lawrence, Glenn Davenport, Robert Burks, and Troy Lawrence.
