Elder A. W. Carr, 82, of 134 Adams Lane, Lafayette, Tennessee, died on Wednesday December 4, 2002 at UMC Medical Center in Lebanon, Tennessee.
Funeral Services were conducted on Friday, December 6, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. from the Fairview Missionary Baptist church by Harold Dean Linville and Jackie Stagner. burial was in the Eulia Cemetery.
Grandsons served as pallbearers
A native of Macon County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Russell and Pattie Scruggs Carr. He was married to Gerald Odean Jones Carr on November 1, 1941 who survives.
He enlisted in the Army in 1945 and served our country during World War II. He later retired from G. F. Office Furniture, Incorporated in Gallatin. He was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors besides his wife include four daughters, Fay (Bud) Troutt of Bethpage, Tennessee; Brenda (Steven) Robertson of Lafayette, Tennessee; Patsy (Kenneth) Bennett of Carthage, Tennessee; Cathy (Doyle) Hawkins of Lafayette, Tennessee; five sons, Leon (Betty) Carr of Willard Community; Freddy (Carolyn) Carr of the Willard Community; Jerry (Patricia) Carr of Bethpage, Tennessee; Raymond (Laurie) Carr of Lafayette, Tennessee; David and Janet Carr of Lafayette, Tennessee; three sisters, Lena Hesson of Westmoreland; Betty Cline of Portland, Tennessee; Dorothy Key of Gallatin, Tennessee; two brothers, Fred Carr of the Eulia Community; Oscar Carr of Gallatin, Tennessee; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
