Together they had two sons, Major Lyle Bishop Chapman (2 Apr 1890); Glenn Edson Chapman(30 May 1892) and one daughter, Marion G Chapman Gillies(29 Dec 1908)who was training as a concert pianist at the time of her father's death, at Syracuse University at her former piano teacher's suggestion and her father's direction.

He passed away suddenly on 4 Nov 1921 of an MI (heart attack)at the age of 56, leaving his wife and young daughter alone.
Both sons were in California due to military service duties. Carrie and her daughter Marion moved to Glendale, California to be near her sons. All of his descendants and wife are buried in the Los Angeles area of California.
