William Bader Persons graduated from Skyline High school in Salt Lake City, UT., in 1969. He entered the United States Navy and was assigned to the nuclear powered submarine "USS Francis Scott Key". He was a nuclear power reactor operator while at sea. He served the Navy for 6 years as an E4 ET"R"3SS Petty Officer 3rd Class while stationed in Pocatello, Idaho, San Diego, California; Bremerton, Washington; Charleston, South Carolina and Rhoda, Spain.

He was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, American Expedition and Good Conduct medals. He then pursued a career in quality control as manager for various electronic and medical manufacturing firms. He has lived in Salt Lake City, Utah; Laramie, Wyoming; Littleton, Boulder, Broomfield, and Loveland, Colorado; Pocatello, Idaho; Bremerton, Washington; Charleston, South Carolina; As a youth he was very active in Methodist Youth Fellowship, The Boy Scouts of America, Wesley Bell Ringers Handbell choir, swimming and shooting. He was an accomplished photographer and enjoyed camping, hiking, snow shoeing, snow skiing, and many other outdoor activities. He was a member of the Utah All-State Chorus, Skyline Concert Choir, "Madrigals" sang Bass and was section leader in 1968.
His ashes were scattered by his family in the high Colorado Mountains near Rabbit Ears Pass in the Routt National Forest. GPS coordinates are estimated to be: 40.402159° -106.613147°

William Bader "Bill" PERSONS: 50 years old: Quality Engineer

Bill Persons passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on September 14, 2001. Bill was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 19, 1951, to the late Rev. William R. Persons and Mildred Persons. He served in the United States Navy for six years aboard the Submarine, U.S.S. Francis Scott Key. For more than 25 years Bill has worked for several medical and manufacturing companies along the front range as a quality control engineer. He was an accomplished photographer and writer. He loved the outdoors enjoying camping and hiking during all seasons.

He is survived by longtime friend, Madalene Becker, of Edgewater; his mother, Mildred Persons of Littleton; three sisters, Diana Wright of Houston, Texas; Peg Beach of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Judy Faulder of Littleton; one brother, Mark Persons of Overland Park, Kansas; five nephews and five nieces, cousins and an Aunt and Uncle.
