Frank C. Schloemer, age 77 of Hill City, formerly of Sartell and Big Fish Lake near Cold Spring, MN. died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at his home. He was born August 5, 1930 at St. Cloud, MN to Frank and Dorothy (Schwab) Schloemer.

He attended schools at St. Joseph, Mn. He started working at Franklin Manufacturing in 1950 and worked there advancing through the ranks until his retirement in 1988 when he was a general foreman. He also worked at Bankers Systems as a custodian engineer for 6 years. He started an orchard in a hay field and tended it over the years to become one of the finest orchards in the St. Cloud area. He married Loretta Salzer on October 2, 1951 at Collegeville, Mn. They lived in Sartell until 1975 when they moved to Big Fish Lake near Cold Spring where he rebuilt and added onto his parent's cabin. They moved to the Swatara area in 2005. Frank enjoyed hunting and fishing, and playing games with his family and also woodworking. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Hill City; the NRA, and the North American Hunting and Fishing Clubs.

He is survived by his wife Loretta Schloemer of Hill City; 3 sons and spouses: Stephen and Lori Schloemer of Prior Lake, Mn.; Rob and Kim Schloemer of Mora, Mn.; Gary and Peg Schloemer of Rhinelander, Wisc.; 2 daughters and spouses: Jane and Bill Mohs of Avon, Mn.; Connie and Paul Gerster of Half Moon Bay, Calf.; 4 sisters: Marie Prom of St. Paul; Louise Kozak of St. Cloud; Millie Kramer of Blaine; Adeline Gillitzer of St. Cloud; 11 grandchildren: Keith Schloemer, Bryon Schloemer, Angie Schloemer, Gregg Mohs, Shari Schloemer, Haylei Peterson, Jessi Schloemer, Rob Mohs, Phil Schloemer, Gary Schloemer, and Katie Youngblut; 2 great grandchildren Ella and Cole.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers: Albert, Hermie and Richie.

A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 11 AM from St. John's Catholic Church in Hill City with Fr. Thomas Galarneault officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM services at the church. Interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
