Lenora Pearl McBride Deal was born in Champagne County, IL., June 25,1884, and died at her home near Zearing Aug. 6, 1911, aged 27 years, 1 month, and 11 days. (Typhoid fever, Cindy H. 47398027)
She came to Iowa with her parents in March 1893. A few years later she was married to her now sorrowing husband. 2 children were born to them, Bertha and Blanche.
She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church with which she united as a girl in February 1896. She was also a member of the Gleaner class of the Evangelical church of Zearing.
Besides her husband and 2 children she leaves to mourn, her parents, 5 brothers and 4 sisters, her grandmother and other friends and relatives. To all of these the entire community extends it's heartist sympathy. May the heavenly father comfort and sustain each one.
The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Evangelical Church by Rev. Charles Stanffacher and Rev. H.L. Lewis offered prayer at the church, the text was Jer 15:9, " Her sun is gone down while it is yet day"
Interment was made in the Zearing Cemetery. Active pallbears were the Gideon class; C.W. Hass; Charles Barnard; Asa Barnard; R.W. Willy; H.H. Couse; E.M. Hedges. The honorary pallbearers were the Glearner class; Mrs. Lula Hasse; Mrs. Vida Tisdale; Mrs. Alice Hedges; Mrs. Goldie Barnard; Miss Mary Maronda and Miss Irma Barnard.
