Born October 11, 1941 at Bluefield, VA, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Otis Leffel and Lula Jones Leffel.
She was an active, longtime member and treasurer of the Pisgah United Methodist Church and was Past President of the United Methodist Women. She was a 1959 graduate of Graham High School. Mrs. Alley was a former leader with the Girl Scout Brownies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Lee Alley; one sister, Nancy Ann Leffel; and one brother, Jerry Lynn Leffel.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy M. Taylor, and husband, Barry, of North Tazewell, VA, and grandson, Nathan Osborne of North Tazewell, VA; her sister, Linda Coleman of Bluefield, VA; nephews, Michael Coleman of Bluefield, VA and Ricky Alley of Tazewell, VA; special aunts, Thelma "Toots" Maloyd of Tazewell, VA, and Ruby Neel of Frederick, MD; and her special cats, Whiskers and Tinker Bell.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sun., Feb. 27, 2011 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA, with the Reverend Dr. Thomas A. Conley and the Reverend Jim Denton officiating. Burial followed at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers were Nathan Osborne, Michael Coleman, Ricky Alley, Blake Dye, C.H. Maloyd, Sandy Etter, and Bill Stump. Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Puckett and Mark Hicks. The family received friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
