Mrs. Ola Mae Messer Williamson, age 85, passed away April 7, 1993 in a Blairsville, GA hospital following a long period of declining health.

Mrs. Williamson was born in Haywood County, NC, a daughter of the late William Nathaniel "Nathan" Messer and Martha Wright Messer. She had made her home in the Gum Log community of Towns County for many years with her husband Gus. Their marriage took place in 1926. Mrs. Williamson loved gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Gus Williamson who passed away in May of 1979, and two brothers, Mr. Lloyd Garland Messer, who died in 1948, and Mr. Fred Messer of Kern County, CA who died in 1992.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Eulamae Williamson Carringer of Brasstown, NC; Mrs. Louella Williamson Stuman of Rt. 1, Warne, NC; two sons, Mr. Odie Williamson of Rt. 1, Warne, NC and New Ellenton, SC; Mr. Phillip Williamson of Blairsville, GA; nine grandchildren: Wanda Carringer Payne, Brenda Carringer Black, Perry Keith Carringer; Larry Williamson, Jeffrey Williamson; Diana Stuman Davis, Judy Stuman Gibson, Kathy Stuman Shook,and Bobby Stuman; and several great-grandchildren. Her brother-in-law, Mr. Charlie Williamson and his wife Nellie, and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Etna Williamson Brown also survive.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 9, 1993 at 2 pm in the Many Forks Baptist Church with Rev. Junior Killian and Rev. Willis Watkins officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery beside the grave of her husband.
