Henry Clay Finch was a son of Isaac and Esther Finch, born in Jay, New York on January 2, 1860. He was one of ten children. He married Sarah Ann Smith, of Jay. He and his wife moved to Lake Placid in 1892, where they both worked at the Lake Placid Club. In his last years, Henry resided with his daughters, Mrs. W. P. MacLenathen and Miss Martha Barber, at Lake Placid.
