Elizabeth was born at Mohawk Hill. She was the daughter of Frederick and Mary Ann Redinger-Karleskint. The family made the westward migration for a better life in Fort Scott. It was there that she met and married Jacob Hamlin on November 10, 1874. Jacob's parents and the Karleskint's were neighbors of sort in New York so the families were well acquianted. Elizabeth and Jacob would raise 5 children and live a good life until their deaths.
