The inscription on the headstone of Sarah (Thacher) Lewis reads: In memory of Mrs. Sarah Lewis ye widow of Mr. George Lewis who died April ye 30 1762 Aged 53 years & 2 mos.


Sarah (Thacher) Lewis is the daughter of Peter Thacher and Thankful (Sturgis) Thacher.

She was the wife of George Lewis, and they had twelve children together by their marriage.
