George Edward Dowell, 42, died early Monday morning in Welborn-Walker Hospital in Evansville. About a month ago he submitted to an operation and his condition improved sufficiently to warrant return to his Tolu home. He was returned to the infirmary when serious illness developed.
Born in Tolu, son of the late W.E. and Allie Dowell, his early life was spent on the large farm of his parents.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Allie Dowell and sister, Miss Mildred Dowell, Tolu. His wife, formerly Miss Mecia Ripy, Lawrenceburg, Ky, died Feb. 7, 1937.
