Whitt Moody Riddell, eldest son of John William and Ann Elizabeth Lynch Riddell, was born on September 9, 1877, in Estill County, Kentucky. He married Macie Ringo Thomas on October 17, 1910, in his hometown. They had at least nine children in 20 years. Whitt and Macie farmed the land for the majority of their lives. Macie died in 1940 of heart trouble. Whitt died on May 10, 1966, in Shelbyville, Kentucky, at the age of 88, and is buried beside his wife in Valley of Rest Cemetery in La Grange, Kentucky.
