Walter Bloch, 87, of Windom died Oct. 21, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
Services were Monday at American Lutheran Church in Windom with Rev. Ron Letnes officiating.
Special music was provided by Carol Vought, organist.
Casket bearers were James Patterson, Richard Burns, Bruce Leibfried, Marlow Jur-gens, Merlin Jurgens, Arlen Rossow and Pat Hoffman.
Honorary bearers were Walter's grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Wyatt Bloch, Nathan Kolander, Padaric Kolander, Oliver Elston, Zachary Bloch, Adam Knorr, Talia Otto, Madalyn Otto, Briana Otto, Isabel Otto, Erin Knorr, Stephanie Pita, Megan Ham, Abby Methven, Alicia Bloch, Finn Bloch, Tate Bloch, Bryce Kolander, Xyla Kolander, Boden Methven, Samantha Pita, Steven Pita Jr., Cash Bloch, Coen Hamm and Hudson Methven.
Burial was at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom handled the funeral arrangements.
Walter G. Bloch was born Jan. 30, 1923, to Max and Marie (Kobbs) Bloch in Westbrook. He was baptized and later confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook. He attended school in Rosehill Township.
In 1945, Walter married Laurene K. Burns at the Grace Lutheran Church parsonage in Westbrook. They farmed near Westbrook until 1961 when they moved to a farm seven miles north of Windom where they were engaged in dairy farming.
They retired in 1992 and moved into Windom.
After Laurene's death in 2008, Walter continued living in Windom until moving to Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom in June.
In their early married years, Walter and Laurene were members of Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook before transferring their membership to American Lutheran Church after moving north of Windom.
Walter enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, ballroom dancing and shooting pool. His greatest enjoyment was his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Laurene, Walter was preceded in death by two children, Terry and Paula Bloch; two brothers, Elder and William Bloch; and two sisters, Emalein Bloch and Hilma Anderson.
Survivors include his four daughters and one son: Cheryl (Rick) Gegorek of Summerland, Fla.; Joanne (John) Elston of Katy, Texas; Debra (Terry) Otto of Aitkin; Todd (Beth) Bloch of Windom; and Tonya (Todd) Knorr of Lamberton; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Orlein Jurgens of Windom, Dorothy (Wesley) Lindstrom of Currie and Della Hoffman of New Ulm.
