Charles "Ray" Cromer, 90, of Lincoln, formerly of Falls City passed away on March 7, 2011. He was born on September 13, 1920 to Joseph and Alice Cromer at Falls City. He moved from Falls City with his parents to a farm near Forest City, Mo. and attended school in Missouri. On July 13, 1942, he was inducted into the military at Oregon, Mo. He was wounded by sniper fire on April 12, 1945 in Rhineland central Europe. He received numerous commendations including the Purple Heart, two Bronze Service Stars, ETO Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, and American Theater Ribbon. He was honorably discharged from the Army on January 24, 1946. On November 19, 1947, he was married to Lois J. Little at Falls City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Joseph "Jay"; and a sister, Bessie Viola. He is survived by his wife, Lois; a son, Bradley and his wife, Phyllis; two daughters, Carol Masters and her husband, Tom, and Cathy Pence and her husband, Kenny, all of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

A visitation service will be held at Butherus, Maser, and Love at 4040 "A" St., Lincoln, on Wednesday March 9 from 6 - 7 p.m. A second visitation service will be held Thursday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, 2303 Harlan Street, Falls City, from 6 - 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home on Friday, March 11 at 10 a.m. A military graveside service will be held at the Steele Cemetery in Falls City.
