GALENA, Ill. - Vera M. Wienen, 82, of Galena, died Saturday, March 7, 1998, at the Galena-Stauss Nursing Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Galena, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena, where there will be a rosary at 6 p.m. Mrs. Wienen and her husband farmed most of their lives in the area. She also worked at Millhouse Bros. Store, in Galena, for many years. She was born on March 7, 1916, in Galena, daughter of William and Minnie (Heller) Beadle. She married Joseph H. Wienen; he died on April 26, 1976. Vera was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, and its altar and rosary society, and the Guilford Sunbeam Quilting group. Surviving are two children, Wayne (Jeanette) Wienen, of rural Galena, and Janet (Thomas) Lacke, of Belvidere, Ill.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Pat (Ne Ne) Beadle, of Galena; and four sisters, Frances Murphy, of Galena, Catherine Seelye, of Harvard, Lucille Rusboldt, of Michigan City, Ind., and Joan Foecking, of Galena; and many nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Petitgoue, Florence Bautsch and Virginia Armstrong; three brothers, Howard, William Jr. and Donald Beadle; and a grandchild, Amy Lacke. A Vera M. Wienen Memorial Fund has been established.
