Eugene Lee Dement, son of Chester Lee and Nancy Pearl Aldridge Dement, was my maternal Uncle by marriage. He married Elsie Beatrice Green Dement, 3rd daughter and 4th child of William Hosea Green and Emma Olive Bryant Green, on May 24, 1951 in Albuquerque, NM, Bernalillo Co. They married late in life and never had children.
Eugene and Elsie were both killed in a head on car crash close to Amarillo, TX in Sept. of 1959. He was a Church of Christ Preacher.

Services Are Held For Local Teacher
Logan--Services were held today at Logan for three New Mexicans killed in a highway crash near Amarillo, Texas.
They were Mrs. Elsie Dement, 48; her husband, Eugene Dement, 44, both of Roswell; and his father, Chester Dement, 69, San Jon.
Mrs. Dement, a Roswell school teacher, died Monday of head injuries. Her husband and his father died in the crash. A fourth victim was Mrs. Sam James, 64, Amarillo.
Officers said the driver of the Dement car apparently was blinded by the early morning sun at the time of the collision Saturday 22 miles west of Amarillo.
