Bobby G. 'Tomcat' Cavitt
MARIETTA -- Services for Bobby Gene "Tomcat" Cavitt, 63, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Stan Beason officiating. Interment will be at Burneyville Cemetery.
Cavitt died April 7, 1998, in a local health care facility. He was born Oct. 16, 1934, at Burneyville, to Joe and Addie Hilton Cavitt.
A lifetime resident of Love County, he was a former equipment operator for Love County District 1 and 2 and Dunlap Oil Co, and a mechanic for Bell Auto and Carlyle Chevrolet. He and Marilyn Klein were married Oct. 9, 1978, at Gainesville, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; a son, Donnie, Thackerville; five daughters, Vickie Roper, Lebanon, Jean Alsup, Ardmore, Teresa Bartholomew, New York, Nicole Cavitt and Scarlet Yoast, Gainesville; a stepson, Len Gregg, Wylie, Texas; three stepdaughters, Melinda Pitts, Lone Grove, Melanie Maggard, Thackerville, and Hattie Klein, Healdton; a brother, Lonnie, Burneyville; sister, Lou Grice, Marietta; and 20 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie, Sept. 13, 1996; and two brothers, Kenneth in 1982, and James in 1984.
Bearers will be Wayne Rains, Clint Lyons, Don Mercer, Dub Bell, Greg and Darrell Grant.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Kennedy Funeral Home."
