Rhea Catherine Cooper Butt
Rhea Catherine (Marken) Cooper Butt, 79, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Peru.
She was born May 6, 1921, in Miami County. Her parents were Ray Walter and Marie (Oakley) Altman Marken. She married Neil Edward Cooper on Aug. 30, 1941. He preceded her in death. She married Albert Harvey Butt on Aug. 16, 1947. He preceded her in death Oct. 22, 1989. Survivors include a son, E. Neil Cooper of Nineveh; a granddaughter, Laura Claudine Cooper Johnson of Greenwood; a great-grandson; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Dale Eugene Cooper; and a sister, Irma Arlene (Marken) Clark.
She was a 1939 graduate of Peru High School.
She was a homemaker and was previously employed by Square D in Peru.
She was a member of Erie United Methodist Church and a charter member of Eagles Lodge Auxiliary 258, and she attended Trafalgar Christian Church.
The Rev. Donald Ritchey will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St. in Peru. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.
