---The community was saddened when the message reached here Saturday of the death of Mrs. Gilbert Reed. Death occurred at her home in Madison, Missouri where she had gone a short time ago to join Mr. Reed after a stay in the hospital in Kirksville where their baby son, Donald Pierce, was born April 5.
---She went to her home several days ago and her sister-in-law, Miss Lucille Reed, accompanied her to Madison. She had remarked she felt very sick and died in a few minutes. Death being from embolus of the brain.
---Much sympathy is extended to the husband and those who are left to mourn the death of this young woman. The baby will be cared for by its grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Reed.
---Helen Brown Reed, daughter of Alex and Lena Brown, was born in Kirksville, Missouri on September 1, 1912, fell asleep in death on April 30, 1932.
---She was married to Gilbert Reed on March 28, 1931. Their boy, Donald Pierce, was born April 5, 1932.
---She leaves to sorrow at her passing, her husband and infant son, her father and mother, two brothers, Richard and Russell and a sister, Caroline. Her mother, brothers and sisters live in California and were unable to be present for the funeral which was held here at the Community Presbyterian Church Monday afternoon at 2:00, May 2, 1932, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Fred L. Hudson. Interment was made in the La Plata cemetery.
