ALBERT SORLIE
Albert Hugbart Sorlie, son of Henrick Anderson Sorlie and Anna Hanson Sorlie, was born December 15, 1890 in the town of Preston, Trempealeau county, and passed away on July 19, 1948 at Black River Falls. He was 56 years, 6 months and 24 days old. He died without warning of a heart ailment.
He was baptized April 21, 1891, by Rev. Myhre and confirmed May 21, 1905, by Rev. C. B. Bestul, both events taking place at the Fagernes church.
In 1910 he was married to Anna Sonsalla, who preceded him in death in 1918. Four children survive this marriage: Virginia, Mrs. George Gilbertson, Whitehall; Violet, Mrs. Leo O'Brien, Waukesha; Eldora, Mrs. Arthur Halverson, Black River Falls and Minnie June, Mrs. Nick Pontas of Salt Lake City, Utah. One daughter Eleanor, preceded him in death.
In 1936 he was married to Pearl Jacobson of Independence, who survives his death.
He also is survived by 12 grandchildren, one brother, Arnold of Blair, and two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Anderson, La Crosse and Mrs. Albert Hill, Whitehall. His parents and three sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held from the Ness Chapel Wednesday, July 21, the Rev. Konrad Urberg, Blair, officiating.
Mr. Sorlie had just completed his new home on highway 12 and at the time of his death was employed by Jackson Box Co. His death was a great shock to his family, to whom the sympathy of all is extended as they mourn his loss.
