Diana Moore Achille, D.D.S., 53, of Brookville, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007.
Born May 1, 1954, in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of John Phillip Moore and Gloria J. (Vincent) Moore of Brookville, PA.
She married Attorney John Garland Achille July 29, 1978, and he survives.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her four daughters, Kara Anne Achille (19), Megan Alane Achille (16), Shannon Corrine Achille (14), and Erin Alissa Achille (11). She is also survived by her brother, John Vincent Moore of Lake Orion, Mich.; and her sister, Julie (Moore) Nizinski of York, PA.
Dr. Achille was a 1972 graduate of Brookville High School. She received her undergraduate degree in 1975 from Penn State, followed by her doctorate in 1980 from Temple University School of Dentistry. At Temple she became a member of the Temple University Oral Surgery Honor Society; American Society of Dentistry for Children; Periodontal Honor Society; and Psi Omega Fraternity-Eta Chapter. She passed the North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners and Pennsylvania and New Jersey State Board of Dentistry examination and became licensed in both states in 1980. She initially practiced in Philadelphia, then relocated in 1981 to Brookville where she operated her private dental practice, which continues at 389 Main St. Her memberships, awards and honors follow: member of the First United Methodist Church; member of the Pennsylvania Dental Association (PDA) where she was the current vice president and delegate; PDA Presidential Citation for Outstanding Contribution; PDA Council of Administrative Affairs, Council on Dental Practice, Council on Insurance, and Long Range Strategic Task Force; member of the Western Pennsylvania Society of Clinical Hypnosis; "Fellow" of the Academy of General Dentistry; St. George Oral Cancer Society Award; past president,vice president, secretary and treasurer of Eighth District

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church, 205 Jefferson St., Brookville, with the Rev. Mick Chittester officiating.
Burial will follow immediately in the Brookville Cemetery .

Her paternal great grandparents were Francis "Frank" Albert Moore (1862-1942) and Mary Ann (Burtop) Moore (1866-1964) of Reynoldsville, PA, who are also buried in the Beechwoods Cemetery, Falls Creek, Jefferson County, PA.
