New Hampshire Governor. He was the son of Edward H. Rollins, who served in the U.S. Senate and founded a prominent Boston investment bank. Frank W. Rollins graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1881, studied at Harvard Law School, and was admitted to the bar in 1882. He became active in his family's bank, eventually rising to Vice President and General Manager. He served for several years in the New Hampshire Militia beginning in 1880, enlisting as a Private and attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel as Assistant Adjutant of the 1st Brigade. In 1894 he was elected to one term in the New Hampshire State Senate, and served as President pro Tempore. In 1898 he ran successfully for Governor and served one term, January 1899 to January 1901. His term included efforts with several other New England Governors on tourism promotion through creation and marketing of "Old Home Week." After leaving office he returned to his banking interests and also authored several books, both fiction and non-fiction.
