double stone with Charles M Hetmaniak; mother of James Patrick Hetmaniak; Gerard Michael Hetmaniak

Martha Hetmaniak was born August 9, 1922 in the small rural community of Stoneham, Texas to the proud parents Mike and Clementine Busa. Her early years were dedicated to working on the family farm with her 4 sisters and 3 brothers - Carrie, Dorothy, Angeline, Helen, Ralph, Harold, and Jake. She attended and completed her education at Grimes Prairie school. A few years later she met the love of her life, Charles Hetmaniak, of Anderson, Texas. Upon his honorable discharge from military service in World War II they were married in November 1945. Eventually they moved to Houston settling down in the Heights where their 3 sons - Gene, James and Gerard were born. She spent the remainder of her life being a devoted housewife and loving mother utilizing her strong Catholic faith to guide her. Her pleasures included tending to her beautiful flowers, sitting on her front porch and listening to country music. Most enjoyable to her in her later life was making weekly trips to her home place in Stoneham, Texas. These were her most rewarding times as she watched her sons raise a small herd of cattle on her native place and "Home Sweet Home".
