Henry Newton Creekmore was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. He moved with his parents to Whitley, Kentucky prior to 1820. Married 29 May 1829 to ann A. blakely, who was born in Nashville, Tennessee. They moved to Daviess county, Missouri about 1833, locating southwest of what is now Gallatin. Henry died at Gallatin and is buried in the Creekmore Cemetery, part of his farm. His grave is marked. Ann A. Blakely Creekmore died in the home of her son, Doniphan, and is buried in the Creekmore Cemetery.
