He was employed by F.S. Royster Guano Co. and was a member of Chesapeake Avenue Methodist Church.
He was a son of the late Charles E. and Mrs. Fannie Mae Harrell and the husband of Mrs. Maggie Morris Harrell.
Besides his widow, surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Bernard Wright of Newport News; one son, Buddy Harrell of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; four sisters, Mrs. Mae Sawyer and Mrs. Effie McGill of Norfolk, Mrs. Bessie Doten of Maryland and Mrs. Alice Davis of Illinois; two brothers, Mark J. Harrell of South Norfolk and Benny Harrell of California; three half brothers, Wally Harrell of Charlottesville, Jesse Harrell of Florida and Eugene Harrell of California; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home Sunday at 2:30 p.m., with burial in Riverside Memorial Park.
