FRANK R. KLINE DIES AT MINNEAPOLIS HOME

Frank Rogers Kline was born near Blair in old Cuming City on July 8, 1860, the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Kline. He received his education in Blair, graduating from the Blair high school and for a number of years studied medicine under the late Dr. S. B. Taylor and also taking a year in a medical school in Cincinnati.

On his return home, which was in the year 1884, an opening of the Winnebago Indian reservation lured him and he took a homestead near Bancroft in Cuming county and was elected as County Surveyor which place he filled until 1889, when he returned to Blair and formed a company with H.B. Dexter and L. H. Clow and went to Idaho where for a number of years they were engaged in mining operations until about 1901 when he was employed in engineering work for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, and resided in Fremont until 1912.

In 1912 he was chosen as engineer and superintendent of a large drainage district near Red Wood Falls, Minnesota where he moved his family and where they resided until 1923 when they moved to Minneapolis.

In 1920 Mr. Kline suffered from a stroke of paralysis from which he never recovered and later from another which resulted finally in his death last Friday, October 23, 1925.

On February 13, 1895, deceased was united in marriage to Anna Gunthrop at Brunswick, Neb. To this union were born three children, Frank, Lila and Marvin, all living at Minneapolis.

Mr. Kline was a member of the Baptist church in this city, uniting with the church when twenty-one years of age. He was also a member of the Masonic order here and of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are his wife, three children and five sisters, Mrs. A. Dixon, of Stromsberg; Mrs. Emma Davies, of Bethany; Mrs. Nellie Ailes, University Place; Mrs. Maud K. Peterson, Fremont; and Mrs. Louise Peterson, Joliet, Montana.

Funeral services were held from the Baptist church here on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 and interment was made in the Cuming City cemetery.

Mr. Kline has a host of old time friends who will remember him for his manly and upright qualities for he was a real man in every respect living the part of a Christian and a Mason and his life was an example among men.
