Services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Bandon chapel for Melvin Adolph Dahl, one of Bandon's avid supporters, who died April 16, in Vancouver, Washington at the age of 77.
He was born September 13, 1909 in Nashwauk, Minnesota, and on December 24, 1940, he married Aili Sarri, who survives. They moved from Vancouver to Bandon in 1953. He logged and operated sawmills in the area, as well as owning and operating Lloyd's Cafe for 26 years. He also owns several other Old Town parcels and has quietly helped many Bandon residents over the years.
Pastor Tom Hutton of the Pacific Community Church officiated at the service with burial following in the IOOF Cemetery. A gathering followed the graveside at the VFW Hall.
