Linda Carol Kot Lyons, 64, quietly passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, in Winston. She was born Dec. 4, 1946, in Atlanta but was raised in Social Circle. She married Dave Lyons on June 9, 1972.
In life, Mrs. Lyons loved being with her family. Her entire life was dedicated to her husband, her two children and her three grandchildren. She cherished every moment with her three grandkids. She was very caring, supportive and loving. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen E. Worsham Kot, and her grandmother, Ruby Worsham. She is survived by her husband, Dave Lyons, of Winston; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Mindy Lyons, of Buford; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Chris Smith, of Winston; grandchildren, Brittany and Josh Smith and Jenny Lyons; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Robert McKellar, of Jacksonville, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Lyons requested donations be made to Central Baptist Church of Douglasville. She wanted donations to go to the children's and youth programs of Central Baptist. There was a memorial service Saturday, Feb. 26 at Central Baptist Church.
