Mrs. Rutland was a homemaker. She was the last surviving charter member of Topeka Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maxie S. Rutland; one son, Maxie Carey Rutland; daughter, JoAnn R. Douglas; her parents, Horace Lambert and Minnie Bullock Lambert; five brothers, six sisters and one grandchild, Maxie Keith Rutland.
Her survivors include daughter in law Brenda Rutland, seven grandchildren: Ben H. Douglas II, of Veneta, OR; Pamela douglas Solomont of Johnson City, TN; Michael Rutland of Ruth; Michele Rutland of Jayess; Clay Rutland of Jayess; Maurice Rutland of Jayess, Melanie Rutland Cantrell of Hattiesburg; eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
