Forrest was born September 21, 1924 in Morning Sun, Iowa, the son of Victor Raymond "Pete" and Hazel Winnefred (Siverly) Hunt. He married Exxa Lou "Peggy" Garland in Morning Sun on December 10, 1966. She preceeded him in death August 31, 2009.
He was a graduate of Morning Star High School and served in the United States Army during World War 11. He was a member of the Oakville American Legion. He was a retired farmer, belonging to many agricultural associations in the area over the years.
Forrest is survived by his nephew, Jon (Diana) Hunt of Raleigh, North Carolina, nieces, Nancy (Jeff) Carey of Columbus Junction and Vickie (Frank) Minces of Lone Tree, step-children, Danny (Rosemary) Brown of Mt. Pleasant, Dave (Kathy) Brown of New London, Jim Brown of Burlington, Jane (Randy) Armstrong of Colorado, Jerry Brown of Winfield and Lou (Pete) Whitehair of Burlington. He is also survived by several step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, wife,a brother,
Gerald (Thelma) Hunt, a sister, Mary Etta ("Max Mont") Kemp and a nephew, James Otto Kemp.
Visitation is 3-8PM Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Dudger-McCully Funeral Home in Morning Sun. Services at 10:00AM Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the funeral home.
Burial in Elmwood Cemetary in Morning Sun with Military Honors by Oakville American Legion.
A Memorial has been established for Great River Hospice Home in Forrest's name.
