Reginald (Regie) Warpinski, age 80, peacefully joined his brothers, sisters and parents after bidding his beloved wife, Shirley, goodnight and goodbye for what would be the last time on Monday, January 3, 2011.

He was born on December 22, 1930, to Anton and Cecelia(Wolnik) Warpinski in the town of Eaton, WI.

Regie attended the Seminary at Nazians for 3 years and continued his last year at Luxemburg High School. He served in the United States Army for 2 years during the Korean Conflict. Regie married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Glaser, on February 13, 1954. 11 children joined them in the course of the following 17 years, which made for a lively, often loud household. Known as "Uncle Regie" to a host of nieces and nephews, he always took it upon himself to liven up any family get-together, from reunions to weddings. Also, as "Grampa" or "Djaj", his chair was always the second stop on each and every visit made by the grandchildren. The first stop was either Grandma or the cookie jar in the kitchen.

Regie worked for Knaus Construction until an early retirement at age 55. He then pursued his lifelong passion of farming, starting his own business Wayside Gardens, more lovingly known as"Regie's Veggies". Regie enjoyed his Saturday dump runs and Sunday drives with whatever children were around when the car was ready to leave.

Regie was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Dr. Marion, Julian, Dick, Bob, and Louie, his sisters who died as infants, and several cousins and second cousins who were always like brothers to him.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley and children and grandchildren: Cindy(Craig) Chicker, Tim(Michelle),Dana, Alex and Kelly Chicker; Mike(Linda) Warpinski, Nick(Angie), Matt(Molly), Jeff(fiancé Katie Possley); Patti(Steve) Paider, Mike, Andrea and Beckie(Lee) DeBruin; Vicki(Ray) Pagano and Evan; Andy(Sandy) Warpinski, Ryan(Erin), Jessica(fiancé Kris Mondloch), Brandon and Brittany; Susie(Dennis) Hookstadt; Tina(Christian) Klemm, Lucas, Nicklas and Rose Klemm; Dan(Sue) Warpinski and Hannah; Ann(Charlie) Roberts, Morgan, Mason, Marshal and Marcus Roberts; Sam(Lynn) Warpinski and Aimon, Leyton and Dalton Schiebel; Jesse(Cindy Coppens) Warpinski and Lily.

Regie is also survived by 3 great grand children: Claire and Steven Warpinski and Cayson Chicker.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 4-8pm Friday. Parish wake service 7pm Friday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday from 10-11am. Mass of Christian Burial 11am Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, Cooperstown, with the Rev. Ron Colombo officiating. Burial in St. James Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences may expressed at www.prokowall.com.

We will all miss that little smirk and the twinkle in your eyes that meant a little fun/mischief was on the way.

The family would like to thank Arlene Anderson and Bill Kane from volunteer respite care, also to Dr. Shrake and St. Vincent Hospital staff, Santa Maria Nursing Home and their very caring staff.
