U.S. Congressman. He graduated from the Eclectic Medical College Ohio, in 1862 and practiced medicine in Titusville, Pennsylvania, (1862-66). Moving to Buffalo, New York, in 1867, he manufactured proprietary medicines, established the Invalids’ Hotel and Surgical Institute and was a member of the New York State Senate, (1877-79). In 1879, he was elected as a Republican to the Forty-sixth Congress, serving until he resigned in 1880. After his term, he was publisher of the Medical Adviser and was a manufacturer of medicines until his death at age 73.
