Gladyce Carolyn Stutz was born March 14, 1912 in Aurelia, Iowa, the daughter of Henry R. and LuEllen (Dice) Stutz. She received her education in Aurelia, graduating from Aurelia High School in 1930. On October 21, 1932 Gladyce married Ervil D. Rapp in Aurelia. To this union five children were born. Gladyce worked in the Aurelia school lunchroom and as a beautician. Ervil died on September 29, 1988. On February 24, 1990, Gladys married Duane Cram in Aurelia.

Gladyce was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, church circle, the Pythian Sisters, played Pinochle and golf, was an avid sports fan, and loved to sew and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gladyce lived in the house in which she was born for 85 years where she always welcomed family and friends.

Gladyce died January 13, 1998 at the Buena Vista County Hospital in Storm Lake.

Preceding Gladyce in death were her parents; her husband, Ervil; four brothers, Charles Wesley, Irwin, Henry and Glenn; two sisters, Cathryn Silvernale and Jean White; and three infant grandchildren.
