Carl married Sue Nicholas on June 26 1983 and she survives.

He was retired from American Can in Austin and a member of First Christian Church of Scottsburg.

Survivors: his wife, Sue Chilton; brother, Tom Chilton of Madison IN; sister, Betty Fleenor of Indianapolis IN.

He was also preceded in death by a brother William Chilton.

Visitation: noon - 4pm, Wednesday, December 5 2007 at the funeral home. Funeral Services: 4pm, Wednesday at Stewart Funeral Home with Larry DeWitt officiating and burial in Scottsburg Cemetery.
