Walter was the only child of Wallace and
Donna.
Walter arrived in Vietnam 12 August 1968 and
was assigned to Bravo Company,2nd Battalion,
5th Marine Regiment,1st Marine Division.
Bravo Company was participating in Operation
Meade River and was 5 kilometers west of Dien
Ban.Bravo Company was on a patrol when the
Marines were engaged hostile forces.Walter
died as a result of gunshot wounds to the body
from hostile small arms fire.
